Whether you’re a first-time dog owner or a long time pet parent, learning how to clean up after your dog’s bath is essential to keep your home clean and your furry friend and family healthy.
So, let’s get started!
1. Use a Tub Drain Protector to Gather Dog Hair
Cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog can be an annoying task, especially when it comes to dealing with dog hair.
One way to make this task easier is to use a tub drain protector to gather the hair.
This inexpensive and easy-to-use product captures hair before it goes down the drain, preventing clogs and making clean-up a breeze.
Simply place the drain protector in your tub before bathing your dog and remove it afterwards to dispose of the trapped hair.
This method will not only save you time and effort, but it will also prevent any potential plumbing issues from occurring.
Invest in a tub drain protector and take one step closer to a cleaner and more organized bathroom after bathing your furry friend.
2. Collect the Remaining Dog Hair with Damp Towel
When pet owners choose to bathe their furry friends at home, it is natural for pet hair to scatter throughout the bathtub.
Collecting this hair can be a time-consuming task, but it is essential to prevent it from adhering to towels, rugs, or other surfaces – or going down the drain.
One effective solution to collect remaining dog hair is to use a damp towel.
Dampening the towel will help to attract and pick up any wayward hairs that may be on the bathtub.
Begin by ensuring that the towel is damp—not wet— as this will help to minimize any airborne hairs.
This step will help to ensure that the bathtub remains clean and free of pet hair after bathing your dog.
3. Discard Dog Hair From Drain Protector into Trash
When it comes to cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog, it is important to take appropriate measures to manage the hair that inevitably accumulates during the bath.
One key step in this process is to discard dog hair from the drain protector into the trash.
This can ensure that hair does not build up in the drain over time, leading to clogs and potentially expensive plumbing issues.
In order to accomplish this, simply remove the drain protector from the drain and use a tissue or gloved hand to wipe any hair off of the surface of the protector.
Carefully dispose of the hair in the trash.
4. Rinse Tub with Warm Water
The next step is to rinse the tub with warm water.
This step is important to remove any remaining hair, dirt, or soap residue that may have accumulated in the tub during the dog bathing process.
Simply turn on the shower or faucet and let warm water run over the tub surfaces.
5. Enjoy the Fun of Cleaning
When cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog, it’s important to use a safe cleaning product for both you, your kids, your furry friend, and your bathtub surface.
After I received a Force of Nature starter kit, I began my bathtub cleaning process with some unboxing.
Next, I wanted to learn more about Force of Nature and its overall design as a non-toxic cleaner.
I headed over to the Force of Nature website as well as read the User Guide, and the quick start guide included with my starter kit.
I learned that Force of Nature was founded by Sandy Posa and Melissa Lush, Force of Nature, according to their website, “We’re here to stop the toxic madness with cleaning products that put people, and our planet, first.”
In addition, the website explains, “We’re parents too and we think children and pets should be able to explore, have fun, and make messes without being exposed to toxic cleaning chemicals.”
Next, the thing I wanted to learn was exactly how the Force of Nature works.
So, I went to the manufacturer’s website to learn more about the science and also visited an additional website for an honest review of the product.
I found the information so interesting and educational.
Also, according to Force of Nature, generally – the how goes like this:
The Force of Nature technology uses an electrical current to break apart molecules of salt, water, and vinegar and form them into two new ingredients: Hypochlorous Acid Is an antimicrobial that’s so gentle it’s used in wound healing, eye care & veterinary products and kills 99.9% of germs. + Sodium Hydroxide Which is the detergent that dissolves grease, grime & soap scum. The gentle concentration of just .0000003%. + These two powerhouses create your all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer, and EPA-registered disinfectant.
In addition, the company explains the science with a picture-based tutorial for children that’s included in the starter pack.
Moreover, this explains the process of how the activator capsules work as well as what hypochlorous acid and sodium hydroxide are in kid’s terms.
Moving on, I wondered more about The Force of Nature activator capsule, the electrolyzer appliance, the active ingredients and how it compares to conventional cleaning products.
I learned that Force of Nature is on the EPA’s list and is a registered disinfectant and sanitizer that can be used in schools, hospitals, medical clinics, daycares, gyms, and restaurants.
Also, it is Green Seal Certified and meets the highest standards for protecting human health, preserving the climate, and minimizing waste.
When used as directed, it kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses including:
- Salmonella
- Listeria
- Staph
- MRSA
- Norovirus
- Influenza A
- Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
- SARS-CoV-2, the cause of covid-19
I also found out that based on their happiness guarantee and the honest Force of Nature cleaner review The Force of Nature Starter Kit is a game changer in the world of cleaning solutions.
Next, I opened each part of my kit:
- 5 recyclable Activator Capsules, each makes one 12 oz bottle of all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer & disinfectant in a reusable bottle
- Electrolyzer Appliance with Power Button – start button
- power cord
- 12 oz planet-friendly reusable spray bottle (BPA & BPS-free)
- Quick Start Guide & User Manual
The Force of Nature Starter Kit contains everything you need to create your own cleaning vinegar solution using just salt, clean water, and vinegar.
If you’re wondering how Force of Nature compares to homemade cleaners or conventional cleaning products – I looked into that, too.
In a batch of cleaner, Force of Nature uses a combination of simple ingredients like clean water, table salt, and vinegar to create a non-toxic cleaning product.
In addition, with its toxic free cleaner status, the Force of Nature Cleaner has become a popular all-purpose cleaner for households seeking a safe and effective cleaning solution free from harmful chemicals.
I read that one of the unique features of this bottle of cleaner is its use of a combination of simple ingredients such as water, table salt, and vinegar to create an electrolyzed water solution.
Moreover, this solution is generated using an electrical current, resulting in a powerful and effective cleaning agent that is capable of breaking down dirt, grime, and stains on multiple surfaces – like bathtubs.
This innovative approach is not only environmentally friendly, but it also ensures that the cleaning agent is non-toxic, and reduces plastic waste making it safe for use in homes with children and pets.
The use of these simple ingredients helps set the Force of Nature Cleaner into its own category.
Moreover, it provides a solution to households in need of a safe and reliable cleaning solution for pets.
Now, with the very handy quick start guide, it’s time to make the cleaning solution!
I found the Force of Nature spray bottle was filled and ready quickly in 5 easy steps.
- 1. Ensure the rubber cover is covering the power jack on the back of the Electrolyzer.
- 2. Check out the fill line on the back of the bottle and fill it with cold water.
- 3. Squeeze in the full contents of one Activator Capsule and wait 10 seconds for the solution to disperse.
- 4. Press the start button on the front of the Electrolyzer one time. The blue light will begin pulsing and then transition to a green color. The cleaner will be ready after the light ring is completely green in color (about 9 minutes.)
- 5. Unplug the Electrolyzer and pour your cleaner into the spray bottle. Rinse the Electrolyzer with water before plugging back in. Then, hit the start button twice (quickly) to start your day counter.
There is a handy day counter to make sure your batch of the product stays at its optimal effectiveness.
6. Spray Tub and Walls with Force of Nature
Now that the Force of Nature solution is ready – let’s get cleaning!
Cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog can be a tedious and time-consuming task.
However, using Force of Nature’s natural cleaning solution made the process much simpler for me.
All I did was spray the tub and walls with the Force of Nature to effectively remove dirt and grime, without the need for harsh chemicals like I used to use.
7. Wait 10 Minutes for Force of Nature to Sanitize
Force of Nature is an electrolyzed water system that is proven to be an effective sanitizer, and it takes only 10 minutes to work its magic.
I just sprayed the solution on my bathtub, waited for 10 minutes, and then wiped with a sponge.
This simple and easy process eliminates the elbow grease that another cleaner still needs.
Plus, it can help maintain a clean and hygienic environment in your home while avoiding harsh and toxic chemicals.
One thing to highlight, before using the Force of Nature cleaning solution, according to their website, “Force of Nature has no added fragrances and has a light swimming pool-like scent that dissipates quickly. Hypochlorous acid (the hero ingredient) is a member of the chlorine family, but it’s very different than bleach (sodium hypochlorite) because it’s non-toxic. You might be surprised to know that your white blood cells produce hypochlorous acid to keep you healthy and that it’s commonly used in wound care products.”
I thought it was interesting to learn the science behind the Force of Nature smell and that human health actually factors into it.
8. Rinse Entire Area with Clean Water
Step 8 in the process of cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog is to rinse with tap water the entire bathtub area and surrounding walls.
This is an important step in ensuring that any residue is completely removed from the surfaces.
I used my detachable shower head, but you could also use a bucket of clean water or a large cup to pour onto the surfaces.
Make sure to thoroughly rinse the bathtub, walls, and surrounding areas, and check for any missed spots.
9. Make Sure the Floor is Clean and Dry
When it comes to cleaning up after your dog’s bath, it’s important to give extra attention to areas with excess water – like the floor.
One effective tip is to use a sponge and spot clean with some of the Force of Nature cleaner.
After bathing my dog, there was lots of excess water on my bathroom floor.
So, I grabbed some paper towels and cleaned with the mixture to sanitize and dry the floor, too.
Incorporating this simple practice into your post-bath cleaning routine can significantly improve the safety and overall cleanliness of your bathroom.
10. Enjoy your Force of Nature Clean and Sanitized Tub
Cleaning the bathroom after bathing your dog can be an annoying chore, but with the Force of Nature cleaner a sanitized tub is a breeze.
I found the whole process was easy and stress-free for me.
This product is a powerful multi-purpose cleaner that I’m happy to use in my home
I am confident my bathtub is now clean and thoroughly sanitized with the help of Force of Nature.
What’s the Force of Nature Cost?
One of the best benefits of the Force of Nature Cleaner is its cost-effectiveness.
You (like I did) are probably wondering how much does the Force of Nature starter kit cost?
The starter kit comes with a reusable bottle and enough capsules to last a while (depending on how much and often you clean.)
You can find The Force of Nature kit available on Amazon.
This allows you to save a ton of money by avoiding the repeated purchase of single-use plastic bottles and cleaning products all while purchasing a healthy cleaner.
